Beat It 這首歌的 MV (Music Video，音樂影片) 是麥可‧傑克遜 (Michael Jackson) 在1983年自寫、自演、半自導的。影片中的一些舞者是從真正的洛杉磯黑幫份子中選出，同時也因提供許多工作機會給舞者而有名。這首歌的主題訴求反暴力，逞兇鬥狠並不是真正解決問題的方法。

〈避開〉"Beat It" (1983)

wanna 想要；等同於 want to，這種語音的縮讀類似網路常用的「醬子」(這樣子)；常見的還包括 gonna (going to)、ain't (am not / is not)、see ya (see you)、gimme (give me)、以及最近寶可夢裡常見的 gotcha (got you)。 

the fire's 等同於 the fire is。 

beat it 閃避、快滾、叫人走開；beat 原意是指「打」、「揍」、「擊敗」。

don't wanna see no blood 不要想要見血；這句話的句法是一種在非裔美語 (黑人美式英語) 中的否定用法，也就是在否定句中，否定掉所有能否定的詞彙，如：I don't know nothin' 'bout nobody no more. (I don't know nothing about nobody no more. 誰的啥事我都不會知道)。

macho 男子漢；macho 同時有正面 (男子漢) 和負面 (大男人) 的意思。

showin' 也就是showing 的略寫，也就是利用撇號 (apostrophe) 來省略字母 g；撇號也有用來省略 be ('cause) 或是 of the (o'clock) 等用法。

funky 豁出去；funky 來自於強調節奏的放克音樂 (funk)；funk 原先指「強烈的味道」，20世紀中期後才被使用為音樂專用名詞；因此根據放克的特色，funky 有奔放、不受限、獨特等意思。
